FAQs
What is the Leaking Money Check?
It’s a free eight-question financial health check that shows where a business may be losing money, such as unbilled work, unreconciled accounts, unrecorded liabilities, or payroll tax gaps. It takes about two minutes and ends with a personalized score. Michelle Ahrens built the questions from what she checks first when she takes on a new client.
How do I know if my business is leaking money?
Common signs are books that run behind, vendor balances that don’t match statements, bank and credit card accounts that aren’t reconciled monthly, and work you’ve done but haven’t billed. The check tests for eight of these patterns. It’s a screening tool that tells you where to look, not a diagnosis.
Is the check really free, and do I need to give my email?
Yes, it’s free, and you see your score without an email. You only enter one to unlock the full breakdown. There’s no cost or obligation for the check or for a call afterward.
Who created this, and does it apply to my industry?
Michelle Ahrens, who has 27+ years in accounting and finance, 20+ of them in construction, plus manufacturing, real estate, and professional services. The questions apply across industries. The check works from your own answers, so it isn’t an audit or a substitute for reviewing your actual books.
What happens after I get my results?
You get a full breakdown by email. You can also book a free 30-minute call with Michelle to walk through what the check found. She’ll tell you plainly whether working together makes sense, and if it doesn’t, she’ll say so.
